SUBJECT: The Other Roswell: UFO Crash on the Texas-Mexico Border--An Analytical Book Review of an Astounding UFO Crash and What Brought it Down

SPEAKER: Ed McBride

ABSTRACT:

This lecture presentation will be based on a new book just published by Ruben Uriarte and Noe Torres. The story related in this book is unique in that a UFO sighting incident and subsequent crash retrieval are described from inception to a grand finale.. In this book a retired Air Force Colonel discloses how he was flying an F 86, caught sight of and chased a UFO over West Texas and followed it until it turned South and watched it crash at the Rio Grande River in the vicinity of Del Rio Texas. Later his curiosity caused him to visit and land another plane at the crash site.so that he could observe the UFO impact site more closely. Upon departure from this site he retrieved a piece of debris left on the ground. Retired USAF Colonel Robert Willingham had this unique 1955 encounter while piloting an F86 in a squadron escorting a B 47 across West Texas. This was an AF exercise to practice a prescribed route for bombers planning a strike against Russia. Willingham and his squadron had been warned by radio about a UFO approaching from NW U.S. When Willingham caught sight of this object, he got permission to follow it until it crashed into an area near Langtry Texas. Later he would return with a friend in a small plane and land at the crash site. He observed the area until turned away by Mexican soldiers but he did retrieve a piece of the crash debris. This lecture will review the facts in the case. An attempt will be made to clarify the various aspects of the sighting. And finally an analytical review will focus on the principal components. Some of the following questions will be discussed and subjected to analysis:

Considerable study has resulted in his treatise Journey of a Demon: Report of an Anomaly in the Skies Over Egypt Approximately 1203 BC. Ed has lectured to MUFON-SD, Orion, and San Diego Chat Club as well as internet radio stations. He also has appeared in the series Journey Into the Void produced by David Piper of David L. About UFO Crash Retrievals--Leonard Stringfield probably deserves the title of Father of UFO Crash Retrievals. Several decades ago he published pamphlets on several crash retrievals relating knowledge acquired from his many confidential sources. Later research by Friedman and Scott Ramsey have focused on the Roswell and Aztec New Mexico UFO crashes. Uriarte and Torres have concentrated on Mexican crashes. Websites and books estimate crashes over many years range from several dozen to the hundreds. Ryan Wood has some 75 in his UFO crash book.

News and Announcements

UFOs and the Los Angeles Times--The LA Times has highlighted the topic of UFOs some four times starting on March 28, 2008. The first article appeared on the front page as did the second one for June1, 2008 and the third for June 14, 2008. The fourth article for June20, 2008 appeared on the front page of the California section. The March 28 Colume One headlined "This guy has the lowdown on UFOs". "The Director of a reporting center and hotline does business from an old nuclear missile bunker. Why? Even he isn't sure." The article goes on to tell about Peter Davenport, Director of the UFO Reporting Center, and his purchase 2 years ago of a nuclear missile bunker Atlas Missile Site 6 in the desert of eastern Washington at Harrington Washington. He is fixing up this facility as a repository for his UFO sighting records. The facility can withstand a blast of 50 times the power of the Hiroshima bomb. The June 1, 2008 front page article has headlines "ETs New Phone Operator" "Acres of telescopes near Mt. Shasta tilt an ear to the cosmos." The article discusses the listening post with 350 dishes at Hat Creek CA which will have the world's biggest radio telescope made to seek alien intelligence. The third front page Column One article was titled "How UFOs Took Over a Town" In Stephenville Texas people reported seeing brilliant lights in the sky. Then strange things appeared: the media, then T shirts. The fourth article of June 20, 2008 was in the California section titled "Out There--Encounters of the Done Kind. This article describes the Integraton located at Landers CA at the Giant Rock compound. Giant Rock was the location where George Van Tassel held spacecraft conventions in the desert in the late 50s and 60s. Remember Gary McKinnon--He is the Briton nicknamed "Solo" who is accused of breaking into US defense computer networks in 2001-2002. His purpose was "to find out whether aliens and UFOs really existed". British war lords are expected to rule on his extradition to the US before the end of July 08.

Books

Stanton Friedman on Coast to Coast--This was a four hour program mostly about his new book on UFOs and Science. He covered the contents of many of his past lectures. Emphasis was placed on the fact that New Mexico was important for three reasons-nuclear research, rocket research, radar systems. His favorite sighting info is the Betty and Barney Hill Incident. He selects this as the best ufo case over the years, and not the Roswell Incident. He believes that there is overwhelming evidence to support this Incident. And he hints that mind control played a role in directing the couple to a clearing where the encounter took place in New Hampshire.

Conventions

MUFON Annual Symposium July 25 to July 27 in San Jose CA at the Doubletree Hotel

Crash Retrieval Convention Nov 7 to Nov 9 in Las Vegas \
Seeking Interest in Forming Contactee, Abduction Group--John Vasquez of San Diego would like to establish a group of interested people in the contactee, abduction field. If you are so inclined, please contact John at john_t_vasquez@yahoo.com or phone 619-336-0461.
News from San Diego--Astronaut Grissom was the keynote speaker at a convention in Mission Valley on June 26, 2008. The second question after the completion of his speech was "Do you believe in UFOs". His answer was no -NO. The attendee should have asked "Do you believe UFOs were visible during your Apollo mission to the moon". There has been conjecture that astronauts including Mitchell have had such UFO encounters during their space activities.
